Ajay (Govinda) is a dancer and sings on the streets thereby heloing his colleagues to rob the houses of people engrossed in the songs. But one day his conscience pricked him and he left his colleagues, who turned into his enemies. Ajay cannot face even his love Aarti (Neelam) and to hide from the police he runs away to Bombay.

I.G. Ranjit Singh (Shashi Kapoor) loves his only son Satish (Raj Kiran) more than himself. Satish spoilt thoroughly has become a bad man. He gives lift to inspector Suraj Prasad (Shatrughan Sinha) sister and tries to protect her. But Ajay comes and saves her. Laxmi’s mother (Geeta Siddharth) adopts Ajay as her own son and Inspector Suraj accepts him as his younger brother. Aarti’s father Seth Dhanraj (Prem Chopra) has also came to Bombay to expand his underworld business. But Ajay still refuses to recognize Aarti. On the other side Satish with the help of Suraj’s lover Kamal (Anita Raj) manages to rob a file from Suraj’s house, in which there are details of Satish’s criminal activities. Then in front of I.G. he proves that Suraj is hiding a criminal, Ajay in his own house. Suraj beats Ajay for misusing their trust. But one day Ajay finds the clue to his false implication in murder. He sees Kamal for whose murder he was framed struggle between crime, duty and love.

Sweet melodious music set in a tense and thrilling climax on the silver screen.
